Wenatchee Wild Stories – #19 Alexios Georgaklis

The Wenatchee Wild is a Junior A hockey team who play in the British Columbia Hockey League.

The BCHL is a great league to earn a full ride scholarship at Universities across North America. 

The Wild play in the 4,300 seat Town Toyota Center.

“The Wolves Den” has provided loud support during their play in the NAHL (North American Hockey League) from 2008 - 2015. And Now in the BCHL (from 2015 to present). 

The Wenatchee Wild are led by Head Coach Chris Clark.

Our fourth edition of this season's Wenatchee Wild Stories - Features forward, #19 - Alexios Georgaklis

Alexios Georgaklis is a 18 year old forward - playing his first season in Wenatchee. Alexios spent the past two years in Rhode Island - playing for Mount Saint Union Academy. Alexios’ older brother Christos, plays hockey at the University of Colorado.

Connor: Alexios, thanks for taking time to visit with us. Where is your hometown?

Alexios Georgaklis:  I’m from San Diego, California.

C: What is your favorite NHL team? 

AG: The Boston Bruins

C: Who is your favorite NHL player and why?

AG: I’d say Mark Scheifele (Center forward for the Winnipeg Jets), I just try to model my game after him and I think he’s a really good player.

C: What is your earliest memory of hockey?

AG: Playing a game in my hometown rink when I was about five years old. It’s just a fun time.

C: Who inspired you to want to play hockey at a higher level?

AG: All of my coaches and my family who pushed me to continue – I just love the game and I wanted to.

C: What do you like about Wenatchee?

AG: It’s a great town with great people, and I’m having a lot of fun. The coaching staff is good, and the rink is really nice. We get a lot of help.

C: What are your favorite places to eat in Wenatchee and what do you order?

AG:  I tend to go to Chipotle and I order a chicken burrito with guac, cheese and corn.

C: What is something Coach Clarky has taught you since you joined the Wenatchee Wild?

Alexios Georgaklis: Just a lot about how to play juniors – how to read the systems, how to work within the systems and how to position yourself to have the best opportunity.

The Wenatchee Wild season has arrived at the All-Star break. 
Four Wild players will represent the team at the festivities - this weekend in Penticton.

Wenatchee Wild forward Ean Somoza has been added to the Team East roster for the BCHL Top Prospects Game on Friday. Ean will join Wild teammates David Hejduk and Lukas McCloskey on Team East. Wenatchee captain Cade Littler will take part in the outdoor All-Star activities on Saturday. -BCHL.CA
