The blaze quickly triggered a second alarm and forced evacuations along Blue Grade Rd and Hocumb Drive, and Cedar Ridge.
Batallion Chief Andy Davidson said favorable winds allowed them to corall the fire and contain it at 15 acres. Davidson said the fire started right next to the roadway, which hints it may have been vehicle caused. However, the official cause of the fire is under investigation.
Officials closed a secion of Eastmont as well as Highway 97 for around an hour as crews handled the fire.
